Idaho Firefighter Settles Wrongful Termination Suit

An Idaho firefighter who alleged that he was terminated for reporting the fire chief for driving a fire department vehicle while impaired, has agreed to settle his wrongful termination suit for $26,000. Captain Brent Blamires was fired by the Rock Creek Fire District in 2015, shortly after he reported Fire Chief Jason Keller for driving while under the influence.

Massachusetts Firefighter Terminated Amidst Allegations of Discrimination

A Brookline firefighter who is suing the fire department for race discrimination has been terminated following a public hearing before the town’s Board of Selectmen. Gerald Alston was fired at the hearing today. He had been out of work since May of 2012, and filed suit against the city last December claiming he was the victim of blatant race discrimination and retaliation.
