A Kentucky truck driver has filed suit in Kentucky against an Arizona fire department, an Arizona truck stop, an Arizona hospital and a bank over an incident that occurred in Tolleson, Arizona on June 24, 2020. lshimwe Grace filed suit today naming the Tolleson Fire Department, Loves Truck Stop, Abrazo West Campus, and PNC bank.

Bellingham Intubation Training Suit Settled for $175k

The City of Bellingham, Washington has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by the widow of a man whose body was used by firefighters to practice their intubation skills for $175,000. Jai Ginn’s federal court suit against the city, eleven firefighters, and Whatcom County’s medical program director alleged a due process violation and tortious interference with a dead body.

Minnesota Medic Claims Whistleblower Retaliation

A Minnesota paramedic who resigned last year has filed suit in federal court alleging he was retaliated against for reporting the falsification of EMS training attendance records and because he refused a police sergeant's direction to administer ketamine to a patient. Joseph Paul Baker filed suit last week naming the City of Woodbury, the fire chief and two fire commanders.

Heart Attack Victim Sues Fire Department Over Refusal to Transport

A California man who called 911 because he was having a heart attack has filed suit against the Sacramento Fire Department claiming personnel not only refused to transport him, but ridiculed him for “acting like a child.” Anwar Theekri filed suit in Sacramento County Superior Court naming the City of Sacramento and the Sacramento Fire Department.

Court Rules Baltimore County EMS Not Liable for Patient’s Death

The Maryland Court of Special Appeals has upheld a lower court ruling that neither Baltimore County nor an EMS crew could be held liable for the death of a patient in 2015. Baltimore County Fire Department Paramedic Nicole Nappi and EMT Traci Jackson were sued by the family of Ceontay Coit, who died on December 11, 2015.
