Medics and FD Sued Over Photos of Shooting Victim

The sister of a man who was shot and killed during Black Lives Matter protests in Cicero, Illinois last summer, has filed suit against two Cicero Fire Department paramedics and a retired lieutenant for taking and sharing photos of his body. Adriana Cazares filed suit today naming Frank R. Rand, Justin Zheng, Gene Lazcano and the Town of Cicero as defendants.

Polk County Captain Charged in Theft of COVID19 Vaccine

A captain with Polk County Fire Rescue has been arrested and charged with stealing three doses of COVID19 vaccine intended for first responders. Polk County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that Captain Anthony Damiano stole the doses with the assistance of Paramedic Josh Colon in order to give to his mother.

NJ EMT’s License Suspended Pending Criminal Charges

A New Jersey EMT who is facing criminal charges for secretly filming people in bathrooms at the headquarters of two EMS organizations, has had his license suspended by the New Jersey Department of Health. Nevada Court Rules Las Vegas Not Liable For Non-Transport of Patient

The Nevada Court of Appeals has upheld the dismissal of a lawsuit against Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and two EMTS alleging negligence for failing to transport a patient to the hospital. The suit was filed by Larry Porchia who claims that on August 26, 2015 2015, he was experiencing stomach pains and “hot flashes.”

Oregon Hospital Sues Fire Department Over Bills for EMS Transports

The St. Charles Health System has filed suit against the La Pine Fire District contending that an ordinance assigning financial responsibility for inter-facility EMS transports to the hospital is unconstitutional.
