Two Beverly Hills Firefighters File Suit Challenging LA County Vaccine Mandate

Two Beverly Hills firefighters have filed suit challenging a vaccine mandate imposed by Los Angeles County on all health care workers. The suit was brought by Josh Sattley and Ettore Berardinelli, Jr., along with a non-profit, Protection for the Educational Rights of Kids (PERK), naming Los Angeles County Health Officer Muntu Davis, the county, and the city of Beverly Hills.

The suit contends Davis, as an unelected county official, lacked authority to issue the mandate; the mandate is illegal under California law; and that it violates the employees’ First and Fourteenth Amendment Rights. The mandate applies to all health care workers in the county including firefighters in cities such as Beverly Hills.
