Nevada Firefighter Charged with Possessing Child Porn in Firehouse

A Nevada firefighter is facing three counts of possession of child pornography following an investigation into digital imagery located on several devices in the firehouse. Isiah Tureaud, 34, was arrested by Las Vegas Metro police following the discovery of the imagery on January 2, 2024.

According to KLAS Channel 8, Tureaud left a cellphone on his bed at a Clark County firehouse that contained child pornography. Police obtained a search warrant for the phone, and also located USB drives in his locker resulting in the discovery of “thousands of similar images.”

Channel 8 quoted from a police report: “Tureaud admitted the phone contained [child pornography] he downloaded from online websites and the cell phone belonged to him.”

Fire Chief John Steinbeck of the Clark County Fire Department released the following statement:

  • The allegations in the arrest report of Isiah Tureaud are of the most heinous nature and are extremely disturbing to the entire Clark County Fire Department. We are grateful to the outstanding officers at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for their investigation and for making this arrest.  The protection of children is the highest priority for the fire department, all public service agencies, and every upstanding member of our society.  The actions of this individual are deplorable, and he can now face those consequences with a court of law.

Tureaud has been suspended without pay. He will be arraigned on February 5, 2024.
