Off-Duty Assault Leads to Suit Against SFFD

A San Francisco firefighter who claims he was assaulted by a colleague while both were off-duty, has filed suit against the other firefighter, the city, the fire chief, two other chief officers, and two company officers. Gabriel Shin filed suit earlier this year alleging battery, assault, race discrimination, disability discrimination, retaliation and several related counts.

Two Suits Filed Over LA County Firehouse Shooting

Two lawsuits were filed last week over the shooting at a Los Angeles County fire station last year. Heidi Carlon, the widow of firefighter Tory Carlon, filed suit in Los Angeles County Superior Court naming the estate of the firefighter-shooter, Jonathan Patrick Tatone, and the county as defendants.

Confederate Flag Prompts Protective Order Request in Maryland

The response of a Montgomery County firefighter to seeing a Confederate Flag above a colleague's license plate has led his colleagues to seek a court protective order against him.
