Jason Wilson filed suit Multnomah County Circuit Court claiming he was denied promotions, given unequal training opportunities, and harassed on account of his race; and retaliated against after he complained.

The City of Portland, Oregon has agreed to settle a suit filed by a former firefighter-paramedic for $93,000. Gabriel A. Watson filed suit last year seeking in excess of $1.2 million in damages over a “medical layoff” in 2020.

The Portland, Oregon Fire Bureau is facing a rather unusual discrimination suit filed on behalf of a developmentally disabled woman that contends the department misconstrued and is interfering with a “friendship” the woman has with a Portland firefighter. The suit was filed in August by Randi Jones, the mother and guardian ad litem for Brandy Tuchscherer.

A lawsuit filed by a civilian fire department employee that accused Portland Fire Chief Erin Janssens of assault has been settled for $5,000. Brian Alcid, who served as a facilities maintenance supervisor, filed suit last October claiming that in December, 2013, Chief Janssens grabbed him by the neck.
