A black Illinois fire lieutenant who was acquitted of arson charges last year for a 2015 fire has filed suit in US District Court alleging that state and local investigators fabricated evidence and tried to frame him. Firefighters Dismissed From Malicious Prosecution Suit

The US District Court for the Eastern District of New York has dismissed two firefighters and a fire department from a lawsuit arising out of the arrest of a man who was accused of brandishing a firearm at one of the firefighters. The Franklin Square and Munson Fire Department, Daniel Maloney, and Robert Fineo were dismissed from a suit filed by Carl T. Semencic.

The mother of an autistic child who was transported to a hospital over her objection, is now suing FDNY and NYPD. Wanda Munoz filed suit in US District Court for the Southern District of New York naming the City of New York, NYPD Commissioner James P. O’Neill, FDNY Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro, Police Officer Kathy Henry, several unnamed police officers, and two unnamed EMTs.
