A volunteer firefighter in Kentucky is facing charges that he set two recent fires. Jeffrey Knouse, a member of the Lincoln County Volunteer Fire Department, is being held in Lincoln County Regional Jail on $10,000 bond. The charges were brought by the Kentucky State Police.

An Arkansas volunteer firefighter has been charged with impersonating a police officer after he allegedly used emergency warning lights on his personal vehicle to pull a vehicle over. A volunteer firefighter from Kansas has been arrested for setting two grass fires last week. Samuel Gilbert, 22, is facing two counts of arson as an investigation unfolds looking into a series of suspicious fires stretching back to 2019. An applicant for membership in the Mezeppa Fire Engine Co. #2 and the Nyack Fire Department has filed suit against the Nyack Joint Fire District Board of Commissioners alleging they are illegally blocking his joining the fire companies. Robert Kolessar, Jr. filed suit last week in the Supreme Court for Rockland County.

NY Firefighter Cannot Sue Colleague For Vehicle Accident

A lawsuit filed by a volunteer firefighter who was injured in a rollover accident while responding to a reported structure fire, has been dismissed by a New York Supreme Court judge. Robert E. Lee was injured on January 19, 2016 when he and Kyle M. Verstraete were responding in Kyle’s father’s truck. Both were members of the Marbletown Volunteer Fire Department.
