More Bad News for the Anti-Vaxxers: Washington State Mandate Upheld

A federal judge has refused to issue a temporary restraining order in a COVID19 vaccine lawsuit brought by government employees, including three Spokane firefighters and several Washington State Patrol officers. The Widening Gulf in the COVID19 Vaccine Battle

A firefighter-plaintiff in a lawsuit challenging the legality of a COVID19 vaccine mandate in Orange County, Florida, has been terminated for refusing to issue reprimands to firefighters who did not get vaccinated. Court Refuses to Block Oregon Vaccine Mandate

A lawsuit filed by a firefighter and five public employees seeking to challenge Oregon’s COVID19 vaccine mandate because they already had the disease, has failed to block the implementation deadline. Maine Investigator Claims Retaliation and Gender Discrimination

An investigator with the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office has filed suit claiming he was denied a promotion in retaliation for his having testified before the state legislature on a pension bill, and on account of his gender. The owner of a building in Pawtucket, Rhode Island has filed a pro se lawsuit against the Pawtucket Fire Department, various fire officers, the city, the mayor and members of the state fire marshal’s office claiming each violated his civil rights. Brookline Settles Claims With African American Firefighter for $11 Million

The town of Brookline, Massachusetts has agreed to pay an African American firefighter $11 million to settle a dispute that dates back to 2010 and resulted in at least five separate lawsuits. Gerald Alston claims his problems began when a when a supervisor left a voice mail calling him a racial slur while he was off on a work-related injury.

LA City Firefighters Sue to Block Vaccine Mandate

A lawsuit filed by a non-profit organization representing 529 Los Angeles city firefighters has filed suit against the city seeking to challenge its vaccine mandate. The mandate adopted August 16, 2021 requires all City employees report their vaccination status to the city by October 19, 2021, and be vaccinated or obtain an exemption by October 20, 2021.

A California fire chief who was fired last year over public statements he made, has filed suit alleging wrongful termination, whistleblower retaliation, and violation of his civil rights. Manhattan Beach Fire Chief Daryn Drum was fired by city manager Bruce Moe following two sets of public comments that Moe said “do not reflect our core values as a City.”
