YCMTSU Los Angeles Assault Case Goes to Trial

An LA City firefighter and his mother are on trial for assaulting a woman who they claim had been feeding stray cats in their neighborhood. As we saw yesterday in the Cleveland crash cover-up case, the assault was captured on surveillance video.

Firefighter Ian Eulian and his mother, Lonieta Fontaine, 70, stand accused of accosting Rebecca Stafford, 47, in September, 2013. The beating left Stafford unconscious and when she awoke, Eulian and Fontaine told her she tripped. That explanation fell apart when the surveillance video surfaced.

The prosecution rested yesterday.
