Shreveport Fire Chief Indicted in Hazing Aftermath

Shreveport Fire Chief Ronald Craig Mulford has been indicted for failing to report allegations of the abuse of a mentally disabled man at the center of a hazing scandal that broke last year. In that scandal firefighters from Station 8 allegedly directed a variety of lewd and inappropriate pranks toward the mentally challenged man described as the “station’s mascot”, including hiring him a prostitute. Five firefighters have been charged criminally for their roles in those pranks.

A grand jury indicted Chief Mulford yesterday on five counts of malfeasance in office.
