Montana VFD Latest Victim of Pink Collar Theft

The secretary of a Montana volunteer fire department’s auxiliary board is accused of stealing $60,000 from the organization. Annie Morigeau is charged with theft and forgery from the Saint Ignatius Volunteer Fire Department’s Auxiliary Board. Morigeau, 33, is the wife of Saint Ignatius Fire Chief Jeremia Morigeau.

According to KPAX Channel 8, Morigeau stole the funds over a three-year period by forging the treasurer’s signature and misusing the board’s debit card. Chief Morigeau submitted his resignation yesterday.

Besides serving as the secretary for the auxiliary board, Annie Morigeau served on the Saint Ignatius City Council. Mayor Steve McCollumb told KPAX he would be asking her to resign from the council.
