Former FDNY EMT Sues Doctor Who Got Her Fired

A former FDNY EMT who was fired in 2016 for disability fraud, has filed suit against a doctor who accused her of forging his signature. Susan James is suing Dr. Ajendra Sohal and Parkway Medical and Rehabilitation.

Besides being fired by FDNY, James was charged criminally with fraud for allegedly forging Dr. Sohal’s signature. Dr. Sohal later recanted his statement that James forged his signature and the criminal charges against her were dismissed in 2017.

James’ suit against Dr. Sohal and Parkway Medical was filed in Queens County Supreme Court. The New York Post quoted James as saying:

  • I don’t know if he [Sohal] lied or if it was a mistake.
  • I guess more information will come out.
