NC Fire Department Seeks to Recover Embezzled Funds

A North Carolina fire department has announced that is it suing a former employee who stands accused of fraud and embezzlement.

The Fletcher Fire and Rescue Department, Inc. filed suit against Brenda G. Livingston earlier this month. Livingston, who served as an administrative assistant, had access to the department’s financial accounts. The action was reportedly filed on April 12, 2016 in Henderson County Superior Court.

According to a press release issued by the department, police are investigating allegations of fraud and embezzlement, and the lawsuit seeks to recover missing funds.
