A lawsuit filed last year by 31 Chickasha, Oklahoma firefighters contending the city violated the Fair Labor Standards Act has been settled for $141,710.91. The firefighters claimed that the city failed to include longevity pay in their regular rate when calculating overtime compensation.

Massachusetts Deputy Chief Sues For Age Discrimination

A Massachusetts deputy chief has filed suit in federal court claiming that changes in the collective bargaining agreement constitutes age discrimination. Braintree Deputy Chief Alan Predella claims that the union and the town are discriminating against him on account of his age by eliminating certain benefits to those who have worked 34 years or longer.
