Massachusetts Firefighters Angry About No Charges Following Investigation Into Missing Funds

Firefighters in Hudson believe a former fire chief is responsible for the disappearance of more than $60,000 from a firefighter relief fund. Channel 5 WCVB is reporting that a police investigation into the Hudson Firefighters Relief Association Fund concluded that the funds were “drained” by December, 2010, and they are powerless to charge anyone over its disappearance due to the statute of limitations.

A Tallahassee firefighter and his wife, a Tallahassee police officer, have been charged in connection with the theft of proceeds from a fundraiser they ran last year. Joseph “Mike” Amison and Jennifer Amison are facing charges of organizing a scheme to defraud, failure to apply contributions in a manner substantially consistent with the solicitation, and two counts of grand theft.
