More LA Firefighters Join SoCalGas Suit

A lawsuit filed last October by 29 Los Angeles firefighters against Southern California Gas Company is in the headlines again as word that additional firefighters are continuing to sign on to the suit. The suit alleges SoCalGas knowingly exposed the firefighters to hazardous levels of toxins like benzene and formaldehyde during a leak in 2015-2016 in Aliso Canyon, but concealed the dangers.

Seattle Firefighter Sues Over Blast Injuries

A Seattle firefighter injured last year in a gas explosion is suing the gas company and two contractors that he claims are responsible for the blast. Jeff Markoff filed suit against Puget Sound Energy, Pilchuck Contractors, and Michels Corporation, accusing them of “egregious neglect, recklessness, and the disregard for public safety.”

Fire Department Sued over Fatal Explosion

A fire department in West Virginia has been sued over a fatal natural gas explosion that claimed the life of a 13 year old girl. Hanna Mozingo was killed in an explosion that destroyed her home in Brooke County on October 11, 2013. Prior to the explosion, firefighters responded in the area for a smell of gas but cleared the scene prior to the 7:00 am blast.
