Four FDNY EMS workers and their union have filed suit against the City of New York and Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro claiming they were retaliated against for speaking to the news media. AFSCME Local 2507, Elizabeth Bonilla, Alexander Nunez, Megan Pfeiffer, and John Rugen filed suit in federal court.

An EMT with FDNY who was denied a firefighter’s position due to his age, has filed suit alleging age discrimination. Daniel P. O'Donoghue filed suit earlier this month naming FDNY Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro and the City of New York as defendants. O'Donoghue filed the suit pro se in US District Court.

FDNY Firefighter Seeks Reinstatement

An FDNY firefighter who resigned in 2013 after failing a random drug test is suing to get his job back, and he is citing the city’s reinstatement of a fire commissioner’s son as precedence. Glen Merkitch filed suit yesterday in Brooklyn requesting that the Kings County Supreme Court order his reinstatement.
