Judge Refuses to Dismiss Claims of Former Cincinnati Chief

A federal court judge has ruled that former Cincinnati Fire Chief Michael Washington can only be removed for cause, and refused to dismiss his suit against the city of Cincinnati for what he alleges is a violation of his due process rights. Chief Washington was fired last year by City Manager Sheryl Long and Mayor Aftab Pureval.

$20 Million Lawsuit Over Ohio Crash Ends in Dismissal

A US District Court judge in Ohio has brought an end to a three-year battle between the mother of a man who died in a 2017 car accident, a township police department, and several area fire departments. LeLonne Tucker filed a $20 million lawsuit alleging that a police chase caused the wreck, and negligence by the fire department resulted in her son’s body going unnoticed in the vehicle for eight hours.

Cincinnati Captain Files Federal Suit Following Firehouse TV Dispute

A Cincinnati fire captain has filed suit claiming he is the victim of sexual harassment and retaliation after he complained to a district chief about a “film” being played on the station television. Captain Janos Roper claims that personnel were watching a “graphic, offensive, and prurient film” that he found to be “repugnant” and “degrading to women.”
