Minnesota Firefighter Pleads Guilty to Stealing From Accident Victims

A Minnesota firefighter has pled guilty to charges that she stole $120 from the wallets of two brothers killed in a motor vehicle accident last June on I-94.

Tara Lindquist pled guilty to misdemeanor larceny charges and will serve 10 days in jail plus 1 year probation. The plea was entered last week just as her trial was set to begin.

On June 23, 2015, Lindquist was first on the scene of an accident in Dalton that killed Zack and Connor Kvalvog. The brothers, aged 18 and 14, were on their way to a basketball camp in Wisconsin.

Following the crash when the boys’ belongings were returned to their parents, it was discovered that their wallets were empty. According to Ray Kvalvog, their father, the boys were each given $100 for the trip.

During a subsequent investigation, Lindquist reportedly confessed that she took the money and used it to pay a utility bill.

Here is more on the story.
