A New Jersey fire company is in the hot seat after an inappropriate sign was displayed below company’s banner last the weekend at the state Firemen’s Convention.

Fire Chief Michael Jacobi and President Joe Kurz of the Williamstown Fire Company are investigating how a bright yellow banner with black letters stating “Show us your t—ts” was allowed to be hung directly below the fire company’s banner from a second floor porch in Wildwood.

The sign attracted the attention of media and local residents, and quickly spread through social media. It also prompted Mayor Michael Gabbianelli of Monroe Township to meet with fire company officials about what took place with an eye toward ensuring appropriate discipline would be handed out.

The following was posted on the fire company’s web site tonight:

The Williamstown Fire Company would like to sincerely apologize to anyone that was offended by the joke. The situation has been addressed and those responsible have been disciplined.
