Reinstatement of Fired Captain Upheld by BC Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of British Columbia has upheld a decision by the British Columbia Labour Relations Board to uphold an arbitration award that ordered the reinstatement a captain who engaged in sexual activity while on duty… with an on-duty dispatcher… in the fire chief’s office… lying to investigators about it… only to discover that it was caught on surveillance video the chief had installed.

Fort Worth Sued Over Sexual Harassment

A female firefighter who was forced to take a medical retirement from the Fort Worth Fire Department has filed a 55-page, 330-paragraph, ten-count complaint naming the city and five officers, accusing them of sexual harassment and violating her civil rights. Identified in the complaint as Jane Doe, the firefighter claims she was sexually assaulted while on-duty by supervisors.

Virginia EMT Files $30 Million Suit Over Sexual Assault

A volunteer EMT has filed suit claiming she was sexually assaulted by a career lieutenant while participating in ride-along training with the Bedford County Department of Fire & Rescue when she was a minor. Identified as Jane Doe in the complaint, the EMT alleges she was sexually assaulted by Lieutenant Larry Scott Hawkins during a ride-along training session in February, 2018.

PA Chief Charged With Sexually Assaulting Junior Firefighter

A Pennsylvania fire chief has been charged with having sex with a 14-year-old junior firefighter. Kevin Mains, fire chief for the Strong Fire Company, is accused of having sex with the girl on four occasions, twice at the fire station and twice at a motorcycle club in Coal Township.

Meanwhile in Canada: Firefighters Caught Having Sex On Duty In Fire Chief’s Office Reinstated

A fire captain and a dispatcher who were terminated for having sex in the fire chief’s office while on duty have been ordered reinstated by a British Columbia Arbitration Panel. Fire Captain Brent Bond and dispatcher Cara-Leigh Manahan were terminated from the Vernon Fire Department last year.
