The first involves the settlement of the city’s portion of the Kansas City, Missouri fatal apparatus accident case. An altercation between a Pennsylvania fire lieutenant and a state trooper at the scene of an accident on Sunday led to a brief detention of the lieutenant, but no criminal charges as of yet. Lt. Mike Naylor of the Goodwill Fire Co. from York Township was handcuffed but later released following a disagreement over the breaking of glass to access the passenger compartment of a crashed vehicle.

An assistant fire chief in West Virginia who took issue with a county deputy sheriff at an incident scene in 2015, is suing the deputy and the sheriff’s department claiming the same deputy tased him at an incident scene in 2016 and later had him arrested.

A retired battalion chief who stopped to render aid to an accident victim and ended up saving her life, was arrested at the scene because he refused to move his vehicle when ordered to do so by a Sergeant from the Georgia State Patrol.

A scuffle between firefighters and county sheriffs at a vehicle accident scene in South Carolina has resulted in a monetary settlement in favor of the firefighters. The incident occurred in Chester County on February 14, 2014 at the scene of a jackknifed tractor-trailer.

A Chicago police officer who was involved in an on-duty altercation with a Chicago fire captain in 2011 that resulted in a $1.6 million settlement in favor of the police officer, has filed a new suit claiming he was demoted in retaliation for the first suit.

An Indiana fire chief was arrested at the scene of a house fire Tuesday for reportedly pushing a police officer who was breaking windows in an attempt to ventilate the building. The incident occurred in the Town of Cannelton and involved Cannelton Police Officer Ryen Foertsch and Cannelton Fire Chief Christopher Herzog.

Two South Carolina firefighters have filed suit against the local sheriff for false arrest and malicious prosecution following a police-fire wars skirmish last year. Fire Chief Andy Martin of the West Chester Volunteer Fire Department and his brother, firefighter Tommy Martin were arrested following an altercation with Chester County Sheriffs that occurred at the scene of a jackknifed tractor-trailer accident in February, 2014.
