Former Florida Firefighter Convicted of Wire Fraud

A former Palm Beach County firefighter has been convicted of fraudulently misappropriating $158,960 from a charity that helps folks who have cystic fibrosis. Elizabeth Genna Suarez, 34, was convicted of three counts of wire fraud yesterday by a federal court jury.

$373k Pink Collar Theft from Virginia Fire Company

The president of a volunteer fire company in Virginia has been charged with embezzling more than $373,000 over a three-year period. Virginia Hoskings has been charged by the Prince William County Police Department with stealing the funds between April 2016 and July 2019, while she was president of the Dumfries Triangle Volunteer Fire Department.

Chief and Wife Arrested for Volunteer Theft in South Carolina

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has filed charges against a fire chief and his wife who are accused of embezzling thousands from the volunteer fire company they oversaw. Joseph Kirk Reynolds, the former fire chief of the Asbury-Rehoboth VFD, and his wife, treasurer Gina Reynolds, were charged with embezzlement of public funds and breach of trust.
