Nevada Firefighter and Colleagues Among Those Sued For Spouse’s Overdose Death

The family of a woman who died of a drug overdose following a party attended by several members of the North Las Vegas Fire Department has filed suit against the city, the woman’s firefighter-husband, and four other firefighters. Tiffany Slatsky died on February 23, 2020 following unsuccessful efforts by her firefighter-husband, Christopher Candito, to administer narcan to her.

A Nevada firefighter is facing second-degree murder charges following the overdose death of his wife. Tiffany Slatsky died on February 23, 2020 from a combination of cocaine, ecstasy and morphine. Her husband, Christopher Candito was a firefighter-paramedic with the city of North Las Vegas at the time.

The families of two San Antonio firefighters, one of whom died the other who was seriously injured at a fire in 2017, have filed suit against Scott Technologies and the owner of a boxing gym where the fire occurred. Scott Deem was killed and Brad Phipps was seriously injured at a fire in the Spartan Boxing Gym on May 18, 2017.

Conviction of Arsonist in Ohio LODD Upheld

The conviction of a man accused of arson and murder for the 2015 fire that killed Hamilton, Ohio firefighter Patrick Wolterman has been upheld by the Twelfth Appellate District Court of Appeals. Lester Parker was charged with hiring his nephew, co-defendant William Tucker, to set fire to Parker’s home in order to collect the insurance proceeds.
