A Muslim firefighter who claims he suffered years of harassment because of his race and religion, has settled his federal court lawsuit with the city and a lieutenant. Lawsuit Against FDNY Over Dispatching Error Reinstated

A NY Supreme Court judge has reinstated a lawsuit against FDNY over a dispatching error to a drowning incident in 2014. The suit had been dismissed in 2016 because the mother of the victim failed to file a notice of claim with the city in a timely manner. The victim, a four-year-old girl, fell into a backyard swimming pool and was discovered floating unconscious. Her father, an emergency room physician, initiated CPR while others called 911

FDNY Hearing Loss Case Reinstated

One hundred and fifty FDNY firefighters who filed suit in Pennsylvania against American LaFrance and Federal Signal Corporation, got good news yesterday as the Pennsylvania Superior Court reinstated their hearing loss claims. The firefighters were grouped into seven separate cohorts that filed separate lawsuits in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County in 2015.

FDNY Firefighter Sues Macy’s Over Injuries

An FDNY firefighter is suing Macy’s Inc. for injuries he sustained at a fire in the Macy’s store on Staten island in 2016. Richard Kane filed suit in state Supreme Court alleging he was "seriously injured" when he fell "due to an accumulation of rubbish and/or waste" on May 14, 2016.

FDNY Sued Over Transport of Autistic Child

The mother of an autistic child who was transported to a hospital over her objection, is now suing FDNY and NYPD. Wanda Munoz filed suit in US District Court for the Southern District of New York naming the City of New York, NYPD Commissioner James P. O’Neill, FDNY Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro, Police Officer Kathy Henry, several unnamed police officers, and two unnamed EMTs.
