Fire Chief’s Conspiracy Suit Settles in PA

A lawsuit filed by a Pennsylvania fire chief accusing a borough, its former police chief and its former council president of conspiring to create false allegations and criminal charges has been settled. Fire Chief Daniel Smith accused former Upland Borough council president Ed Mitchell and former Upland Borough Police Chief Nelson Ocasio of fabricating a smear campaign against him.

Find Something To Charge Them With

Trenton firefighters union president Wayne Wolk has accused Fire Director Qareeb Bashir of demanding that a deputy chief “find something” to charge two fire officers with in the aftermath of a bizarre retaliation suit. According to NJ.com, that officer, Deputy Chief Robert Tharp, has opted to resign rather than carry out the Director’s order.
