Massachusetts Deputy Chief Sues For Age Discrimination

A Massachusetts deputy chief has filed suit in federal court claiming that changes in the collective bargaining agreement constitutes age discrimination. Braintree Deputy Chief Alan Predella claims that the union and the town are discriminating against him on account of his age by eliminating certain benefits to those who have worked 34 years or longer.

Reverse Discrimination Alleged in FDNY Medical Officer Promotion

Two FDNY physicians have filed suit against the city claiming they were passed over for a promotion on account of their race and age. Both doctors are white and in their 60s. Dr. Mark Spadaro and Dr. Ann Marchesano have served as City Medical Specialists for FDNY since 2007. Both are board certified physicians and each have over 30 years of experience.

Illinois Firefighter Settles Age Discrimination Suit

An Illinois firefighter who was removed from his position as a public education officer in 2009, has settled his age discrimination suit. Firefighter Scott Kody will receive a settlement of $170,000 and in turn will separate from the Schaumburg Fire Department while applying for a disability pension.
